Woodturning brings me joy!

Welcome to my world of woodturning! I began shaping wood on a lathe in 2016. Before that, I spent thirty years working as a landscape architect, designing gardens and green spaces. Nature and the beauty of wood have always captivated me.

My current specialty is crafting wood lamps. In 2021, I began teaching a yearly course called "Lamps on the Lathe" at John C. Campbell Folk School with my friend David Jones. Each year we update the course to make it easier for beginners and more challenging for advanced students. I've loved seeing our students improve their skills and confidence as they design and create gorgeous lamps.

This portfolio represents my own progress and the opportunities I've had to immerse myself in the world of woodturning. In the past year alone, I've traveled to Norway with other woodturners, taught at John C. Campbell, assisted other instructors at the school, taken classes on technique, demonstrated for a club and attended national and regional symposiums. I also participated in a design collaboration with teams of women from nine countries.
